Disculpa. On Friday gone I posted a few words of wisdom by a well-known U.K. writer and invited you to post your best guess as to their identity. I promised to let you know their name on Monday (yesterday).No excuses - except to say a series of powercuts, or outtages (which seems to be enjoying increasing currency in good ol' Blighty), coupled with intermittent interruptions of Telefonica's ADSL service, outflanked me.
It was Philip Pullman - author of the His Dark Materials trilogy.
